The historic city of Zadar on the Dalmatian coast enchants with its magical ambience and numerous cultural and historical monuments. The origins of this city date back to the pre-roman era of Liburna, whose traces can still be seen in the foundations of the city. The old town centre is located on a peninsula that still preserves the Roman orthogonal order of its\u00a0 spaced streets. Zadar is known for having the largest number of preserved sacral buildings in Croatia. Besides St. Peter\u2019s Cathedral. Sto\u0161ija, in Zadar, there is also a unique monument featuring a pre-Romanesque style art dating back to the 9th century, the church of St. Donata was built on the foundations of the old Roman Forum which became a symbol of this ancient city. Zadar also enjoys some of the most beautiful sunsets, and in addition to its historical buildings, you will also find interesting modern art installations such as the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun. In the summer months, Zadar delights its visitors with the playful rhythm of its street festivals and cultural events. An indispensable cultural and gastronomic event not to be missed is the Night of the Full Moon.
