The Vrana Lake Nature Park is a true oasis of natural beauty, located next to the village of Pakostane in Dalmatia. Vrana Lake covers an area of 30 km2, and is the largest natural lake in Croatia. The rich flora and fauna attract many visitors and lovers of nature in the raw. There is also a bird reserve, which also boasts the most important natural habitat of birds in Croatia. Out of 251 species of birds, migratory and resident, Lake Vrana is a permanent nesting ground for as many as 102 species of birds. Among them is the loon, a protected species that has also become a symbol of Lake Vrana. Lake Vrana is also a perfect place for cycling or sport fishing. In Vrana Lake, native fish species such as Adriatic redfish or silt can also be found. There are also numerous educational and cycling trails over 50 km in length where you can enjoy riding through the picturesque landscape and take in all the magical colours that nature has to offer.
